Election Wahala - Labour Party Senatorial Candidate Dies Mysteriously!!!

The Ogun State West Senatorial candidate on the platform of the Labour Party in the forthcoming general elections, Professor Solomon Olamilekan, has reportedly died in mysterious circumstances yesterday morning, at the age of 54.

According to reports, Prof. Olamilekan who is a pharmacist, gave up the ghost in a private hospital where he was on admission after complaining of a stiff neck.

The paper reports that Olamilekan had told his political associates that his neck was stiff and was later rushed to a private hospital at Adigbe, Abeokuta, where he passed on.

The LP Secretary in the state, Sunday Oginni, confirmed the sad news, describing it as shocking.
According to Oginni:

"Professor Olamilekan had been complaining of a stiff neck and when we did not see him at the senatorial meeting we asked of his whereabouts and were told he was in hospital.

This morning (yesterday), we were told that the man is dead.

It is a great calamity to the party because he was one of the very strong candidates we have in the party.

He had assisted Labour Party to gain more popularity and acceptance, especially in the rural areas and many of the residents in rural areas have promised to vote for him."

The Chairman of the party in Ogun West Senatorial district, Jimoh Edun, however, pointed accusing fingers at opposition parties for the death of Olamilekan, claiming that the popularity of the deceased prompted the opposition to attack him spiritually.

"It was a spiritual attack. The opposition knew our candidate would defeat them, that was why they killed him."
